Assistance Dogs Information

Until the creation of the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers in 2001, there was no true certification process for canine professionals.  Our trainer has earned her certification through CCPDT for CPTD-KA and must earn continuing education credits to maintain this designation.    Deafinitely Dogs! feel strongly that this certification is important and shows the committment of excellence towards our training program.

Assistance Dogs International is the gold standard for accrediation.  There is a wealth of information on this site.

IAADP (International Association of Assistance Dog Partners) is a non-profit cross-disability organization representing people partnered with guide, hearing and service dogs.

Our trainer is a Professional Memeber of the Association for Professional Dog Trainers.  Check them out on-line!

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the lovely women of the Cedar Rapids Quota International Group in Cedar Rapids.  Our common goal of helping those in need, specifically the deaf and hard of hearing, is a perfect fit!  We are fortunate to have the support of this wonderful service organization.

Can we just say how much we appreciate and admire our Waterloo Quota International group.   This is a wonderful group of ladies dedicated to empowering women and children, especially those who are deaf or hard of hearing.  We think our Quota ladies are wonderful and feel privilaged to call them our friends!

We couldn't be any more pleased than to be working with Quaker!  There is a long history of Quaker and Cedar Rapids...A great company filled with wonderful people.

For those of you looking for a group of wonderful volunteers who take their happy, friendly Therapy Dogs to visit schools, the elderly, patients or other places that a wagging tail and a wet nose would make someone's day we highly recommend Corridor Therapy Dogs!

The Mission of Corridor Therapy Dogs is to enrich the lives of others by providing compassion and comfort for those who may benefit from our registered therapy animals and their qualified handlers.

Our dogs LOVE their Kuranda beds.  We use them in our offices and in our training room.  They are sturdy, cleanable and comfy!

Linda Hanover, owner and groomer of Clip n' Go, will be grooming for Deafinitely Dogs!  It's so wonderful and efficient to have an experienced groomer come right to your door.  Thank you Linda!

Deafinitely Dogs! is very fortunate to have a facility like Edgewood Animal Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The owers Bruce and Leigh Ennen, as well as the entire EAH staff are knowledgable and friendly.   Their support of Deafinitely Dogs! and our mission is integral to providing healthy, happy assistance dogs to those in need!

A huge thank you to Earthborn Holistic for supplying wholesome, high quality nutrition to our Deafinitely Dogs! service dogs in training.  We are thrilled to be able to feed such a superior quality food!

We have strong chewers!  Nylabone is wonderful and the dogs enjoy chewing them...and we don't have to replace a toy after three minutes!  Our Nylabones for strong chewers last months!

We couldn't be more thrilled to welcome Phantom Standard Poodles of Blackstar!   This is a breeder dedicated to producing sound minds and bodies in lovely poodle packages. They have a track record of producing puppies that grow into lovely assistance dogs!
